Defective Hunslets

Cat A

Loco has cosmetic damage but still performs as it should.  This can be simply missing or detached handrails, detached buffers or buffer shanks, or some other small body detail. ** Sold Out **

Cat B

Loco has some electro-mechanical issue but still runs to a degree and may be repairable.  This could be a “hobble” when it runs; may only run on DC or DCC rather than both or some other issue that can potentially be repaired.  It could also be used a donor for spares.

Cat C

Loco is a non runner on either power source, and in one or two extreme cases, has deformed body parts due to heat.  It can be considered as a unit for display or as static scenic items on your layout.  It could also be used a donor for spares depending on the defect.

These units will be sold “as seen” so there will be no warranty or returns on these.  The locos have been categorised on the basis of info supplied at the time they were returned, there hasn't been any additional testing unless there was no info on the loco..  Not all liveries will be available in each category, but there have been returns in each of the liveries, so have a look in the categories below and grab yourself a bargain.  Please share some pictures with the Journal Editor showing how you have used these locos on your layout or indeed if you have successfully repaired one, please think about submitting an article on the repair, as not much has been written about that
